TSgt Larry Forma
July 30, 1950 - February 5, 2025
TSgt Larry Forma, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and retired Air Force veteran, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on February 5, 2025 in Round Rock, Texas. He was 74 years old.
Larry was born on July 30, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, to Elizabeth and Maximilian Forma. After graduating from Garden City High School, he joined the United States Air Force at the age of 18. During his distinguished 20-year military career, Larry trained in airborne radio operations and worked on B-52 bombers as well as KC and EC135 tankers. He later served as an inflight instructor and concluded his service as a project manager overseeing the installation of advanced electronics on aircraft. His military career took him around the world to places such as the Philippines, Turkey, Germany, and England. TSgt Forma's commendations and awards are too long to list and include a Combat Readiness Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
Following his retirement from the Air Force with the rank of Technical Sergeant (TSgt), Larry transitioned into civilian life as a project manager for a large technical company, EDS. Later in life, he found fulfillment serving his community as a Volunteer Coordinator with the Round Rock Police Department and President of the Citizens Police Academy. His dedication earned him recognition as Volunteer of the Year for two years. The Round Rock Police Department is honoring Larry’s service by naming the award after him.
Larry’s commitment to service extended beyond his professional life; he gave everything he had to ensure the happiness and success of his family. He is remembered by those who knew him as a devoted husband of 55 years to Sherry Forma and a dedicated father to Amy Marvin (Ritch), Anthony Forma (Elizabeth) and Max Forma.
He was also a loving grandfather to Lilah Marvin, Jackson, Corbin, and Roxy Forma. Larry is also survived by his sister Maxine "Cookie" Sebes.
He was predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Maximilian Forma; his sister Paula Haddow; and his brother Pat Forma.
Larry’s personality shone through in every aspect of his life. Despite any hardships he faced, he always loved his family fiercely, putting their needs above his own. He was a pillar of strength, comfort, and knowledge to all that loved him.
Larry was known for fixing anything from household problems to cars, he had an uncanny ability to solve practical challenges with ease. He loved reading and crosswords, listening to music, over-ordered food to make sure everyone had enough (and then some), included everyone in celebrations big or small, and enjoyed being both playful and sentimental—whether it was annoying others with singing birthday candles or secretly embracing Christmas while pretending to be “the Grinch.” Larry brought humor and warmth into every moment he shared with others.
